When you visit Cancun, Riviera Maya or Playa del Carmen, there are plenty of activities and things to do, but no visit is complete without taking the time to experience Chichén-Itzá.
The tour starts with a comfortable, air-conditioned ride directly from your hotel or designated meeting point.
The journey to Chichén-Itzá will fly by as you are able to take in the nature that surrounds you as well as the preparation for your exclusive guided tour of Chichén-Itzá.
Once we arrive at Chichén-Itzá, you will have a couple hours of time to explore one of the seven wonders of the modern world. As a profoundly important historical archaeological site, you’ll learn more about the civilization that dwelled there and all that they were able to accomplish. Due to the historical and cultural significance of this location, it has been declared a world-heritage site by UNESCO.
This ancient civilization was able to cultivate an advanced knowledge of their world spanning astronomy, architecture, math, and even their accuracy by creating the world´s most accurate calendar to date.
As you explore, you can’t help but wonder what led to their demise. Beyond the historical and technological significance of the city, you will also have the opportunity to learn more about this ancient culture. Our tour includes time spent seeing various temples and recreational areas, which will connect you even more with a once great people.
Following our time at Chichén-Itzá, we will arrive to a beautiful cenote. This well-known and oft-visited cenote offers the ideal location to eat a tasty deli-style lunch and take a swim in some of the cleanest, refreshing, and clear bodies of water on the continent. This experience is unmatched and provides one of the must-see activities for anyone traveling in the area. The Cenote does not just offer modern comfort--it’s a site of ancient significance that is deeply ingrained in the Mayan culture. Cenotes connect the various regions of the peninsula and have deep roots in Mayan history.
After lunch at the Cenote, we will travel to Valladolid for a brief stop in one of the most charming colonial towns in the region. You’ll be able to get a quick snack or desert from one of many street vendors and explore the plaza before we board again and continue back to a conveniently-selected drop-off point at your hotel or departure point.
